well, remember that, until the PS2 came out, there wasn't a lot of space on the disks or cartridges to make battles play out in real time like that, for them to make that battle system work, and still have a game that's more than 5 hours long that will attract millions of players. Not everybody looks for graphics in an RPG. I myself, feel that as long as the story and the characters are great or better, than they could go back to the original 2D sprites, for all I care *chuckle*

YES! Another FF6 fan! ^_^ I Loved FF6. *chuckle* it was the first one I beat, in the series, and has gone down as one of the most memorable games I've played.

FF9, I've played, but I've not had the pleasure to complete. I can never get past disk 1, before my save data somehow corrupts itself and vanishes from my memory card... I'd like to play it though, if only to finish it. (same with FF8)

FF12 I'm honestly not too far in, at least from my perspective. Balthier does have a vague resemblance to Han Solo, both in appearance and in persona.
